CanWel’s Business Continuation Plan – COVID-19
To all our valued suppliers:
As you are aware, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is a global challenge that’s having a real impact on all Canadian communities. At CanWel, we are taking all possible precautions to ensure the ongoing health and safety of our employees, our customers and our suppliers. The situation is constantly evolving, and we will continue to adjust as necessary. Below is a summary of the measures we are currently taking.
We have suspended all business travel and face-to face business meetings unless absolutely required. We will continue to conduct business with customers and suppliers via electronic communication tools. If one of our staff is required to meet in person to resolve an issue or address a claim, we will respond in a safe manner. It is not our intention to inhibit business, but rather to support the needs of our customers while respecting safety protocols.
We have adopted a new internal code of conduct to ensure the safety of our employees. This includes adherence to physical separation guidelines, restricting the use of common areas and increased frequency of cleaning and disinfecting of all high-touch areas. In addition, we are now asking that all Suppliers refrain from visiting our premises until further notice.
All employees have been provided clear directions on what actions to take in the event they are exposed to COVID-19. The instructions are based on published health authority guidelines and include disclosure and self-isolation. These are updated as required, as the situation evolves.
